text: surah al-tariq (LXXXVI), part of verse 7 to the end; surah al-ghashiyah (LXXXVIII), verses 1 to parts of verse 20; surah al-baqarah (II), part of verse 177 to parts of verse 187
Arabic manuscript on vellum, 15 to 17 lines to the page, written in elongated Kufic script in brown ink, verses separated by triangular clusters of 6 gold dots, fifth verses marked with a stylised letter 'ha' in gold, tenth verses marked with an illuminated square device, the smaller leaf with a surah heading in gold, with a gold geometric panel beneath and the surah heading repeated in red ink, the recto with a further panel of repeating circular patterns 


Condition

In fair overall condition, some creasing, waterstaining and nibbles to the leaves' edges, the larger leaf with a small repair to the outer margin, calligraphy generally strong and bold but faded on the hair sides, as viewed.
