- Ink & Gold on Paper
Arabic manuscript on paper, 5 lines to the page, written in thuluth and naskh scripts in black ink, text verses separated by gold roundels embellished with blue and red dots, panels ruled in gold, laid down on an ebru album page, a leafy gold illumination decorating the top panel
Condition
In good overall condition, a few minor smudges, one or two stains, otherwise calligraphy strong and bold, ebru borders vivid, as viewed.

Hafiz Ibrahim Effendi (d.1780)
Hafiz Ibrahim Effendi studied calligraphy under the supervision of Ibrahim b. Ramazan Effendi. He worked in the office of the Grand-mufti, particularly for Sheikh Al-Islam (grand mufti) Durri-zade Mustafa Effendi. Appointed qadi and qadi-asker (chief judge), he died in 1780.
