Description

  • bronze
circulaire, la panse renflée flanquée d'anses sculptées en têtes de lions, le couvercle ajouré sculpté d'un dragon émergeant de flots tumultueux au-dessus des trois terrasses, surmonté d'un caractère shou stylisé, les bords du couvercle, l'épaulement et le pied ornés d'une frise de pétales stylisés, les bords soulignés d'une frise de grecques, marque Xuande à six caractères dans un cartouche rectangulaire à la base

Condition

A few areas of wear to the patina on the shoulder, a few scattered dents on the surface and minor nicks on the rim, consistent with age, but overall the censer is in good condition. Three pitted areas on the underside of the cover rim (the largest 2,2 cm x 3 mm) corrected with black resin filling. Some wear to the patina on the edge of the top pierced medallion.
