Description
Provenance
Yamanaka & Co., Inc., New York, 3rd March 1941.
Exhibited
Special Exhibition of the Georges Estoppey Collection of Jade, Smithonian Institution, Washington D.C., 15th January-1st March 1942.
Condition
There are a few tiny nicks to the edges but overall the vase is in good condition. There was originally a lid and a separate lower base which are now missing (the vase originally came in three parts, the bottom probably fitting inside a jadeite base, now replaced with a wooden stand). The actual colour of the stone is a fraction darker and slightly yellower than the illustration would suggest in the catalogue.
