Condition
The portrait is painted on silk and mounted on paper scroll. The condition is generally good. The colors are rather fresh and the pigments are in good condition with the exception of some rubbing to the silver moon crescent on the screen behind the figure. The silk ground has a few tears or sections lifting in areas (visible on the photo), essentially on the beige ground (some are scattered along the upper right edge, the largest 4x3 cm on top, two tears in the middle of the upper ground, some tears and small holes to the lower right as well as some wormage to the lower left). A few horizontal creases. The silk ground is also lifting from its paper backing in areas. The black fabric scroll mounting is worn along the edges and partly torn at the top right corner and near the stick. One of the two ivory endings at the bottom is missing.
