Condition
The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is lighter in the original.
The work is executed on canvas and its not relined.
Two paint traces (approx. 3.5 cm and 3 cm) are visible on the plexiglas in the middle of the lower half.
Under U.V. light there is no evidence of any retouching.
This work is in excellent condition.

A travers lui, c'est aux artistes du Quattrocento qu'il se réfère et se mesure dans une oeuvre hors pair. Artiste savant et cultivé, Valdès «fait de l'appropriation de la peinture classique un véritable sujet: un procédé qui se retrouve dans l'esthétique du Pop Art [...]. Mais chez lui, pareilles citations, de Pisanello à Goya en passant par Rembrandt et Velasquez [...] sont d'authentiques recréations.
