Condition
The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is lighter in the original.
This work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined.
Few superficial fine cracks especially to the impasto in the upper half are visible under very close inspection.
Some scattered tiny round cracks to the red impasto in the lower half are visible under very close inspection.
Two minor and superficial losses of paint (less than 3 mm each) are visible under very close inspection :
- one located 56,5 cm from the lower edge and 38 cm from the right edge
- one located 33,5 cm from the lower edge and 33 cm from the right edge
Under UV light, four thin and short lines located in the lower left quarter along the left and lower white edges fluoresce, intrinsic to the artist's process.
This work is in very good condition.
