Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is lighter in the original. The work is in very good condition. The metal of the frame has been polished at the four corners probably due to the artist's technique. A few petals have dropped off in the lower right corner.

Hâfez est le poète majeur de la poésie lyrique persane. Il vécut au quatorzième siècle à Chiraz. Les mots de ses poèmes sont ceux des spirituels de son temps, ceux aussi des fêtes à la cour, ceux des soldats ou de la chasse, du commerce, du jardin ou de la rue. Mais ses poèmes sont surtout pleins du désir de voir le visage de l'Aimé, désir que ne font qu'aviver toutes les réalités du monde. En rendant un hommage délicat au premier des poètes persans, Anselm Kiefer ouvre la porte vers l'amour, celui qui a dans son oeuvre une place si éminente qu'il semble effacer les frontières entre l'humain et le divin.
