Description

  • A Bronze Balsamarium, Roman Imperial
  • Bronze
  • Height with handles 7 3/4 in. 19.7 cm.
with bell-shaped foot, the body in the form of the bust of charioteer wearing a sleeveless tunic, rope twisted around his neck, down his chest, and around the waist, and tight-fitting racing cap with flaps over the ears and tied beneath the chin, the lid missing, the swivel  handle with duck head terminals.

Condition

As shown and described, surface somewhat worn overall, tiny hole above proper right eyebrow appear to be a casting flaw, there is some modern wax inside each of the handle rings.
