  • An Attic Black-figured Trefoil Oinochoe, attributed to the Painter of Brussels R 236, Class of London B 495
  • Terracotta
  • Height 8 7/8 in. 22.7 cm.
painted with Dionysos seated on a stool facing right, holding a drinking horn and vine branches, and flanked by a dancing satyr and maenad, tongues on the shoulder, meander on the neck, a graffito underneath the foot.

Condition

Repaired from several fragments with in-painting and minor restorations along breaklines, small section of foot either repaired or restored, minor chip on rim, minor losses to black glaze in-painted overall, painted panel in relatively good condition with most of the maenad's added white preserved.
