probably from a trapezophoros or table support, the god wearing a goat skin across his chest and a mantle draped over his shoulder, his head turned slightly to his right, his long wavy hair parted in the center and surmounted by a large wreath of ivy and grape vine.
Provenance
South American private collection, acquired in Paris in the 1920s/1930s
Condition
As shown. Note that the surface is very weathered and worn. Minor chips overall and a superficial hairline crack across the base of the neck and top of the left shoulder. The vertical pillar that formed the table support covers most of the roughly carved back of the bust.
