- A Marble Head of Aphrodite, Roman Imperial

- Height 7 5/8 in. 19.4 cm.
turned slightly to her left, with straight nose and almond-shaped eyes with incised irises and recessed pupils, her deeply-drilled centrally-parted hair bound in a fillet, tied in a chignon, and surmounted by a stephane decorated in relief with palmettes, the ends of her fillet escaping over the nape of the neck.

Condition
As shown, edge of diadem lightly chipped and abraded, large chip off back of neck on proper left side, strand of hair or fillet escaping on proper left side of neck mostly missing, fresh chip on lower edge of neck next to modern base, surfaces were probably lightly cleaned, remains of incrustation within recessed and drilled areas.
