  • A Campanian Red-figured Neck Amphora, attributed to the Whiteface Painter
  • Terracotta
  • Height 20 5/8 in. 52.4 cm.
decorated on one side with a nude youth resting against a column and facing a veiled woman wearing a polos, the reverse with a similar scene in mirror image, a head of a woman wearing a sakkos on each side of the neck, flowering tendrils in the field, details in added white and yellow.

Condition

Intact, small chip on foot, minor losses to glaze around foot, area of misfiring between the two figures on one side, streaks of misfiring on handles.
