- An Attic Black-figured Neck Amphora, attributed to Near the Kleophrades Painter
- Terracotta
- Height 15 5/8 in. 39.7 cm.
with torus foot, triple handles, and echinus mouth, decorated on one side with Dionysos and a goat standing between two maenads, and on the other side with a maenad and a goat between two cavorting satyrs, Dionysos holding a kantharos and vine branches, the maenad vine branches and a clapper, encircling rays and festooned lotus buds above the foot, linked lotus flowers and palmettes in the handle zones, and linked double palmettes on the neck, the details in added red and white.

Condition
Intact, edge of rim lightly abraded and with several small chips, minor losses to glaze on handles and around foot, losses to added white as shown, several areas of dark red discoloration around figures in maenad-and-satyrs scene, possibly from cleaning off of patches of incrustation, there are still some small areas of incrustation on tongues above manead and satyrs as well as over linked palmette and lotus bud frieze above.
