carved with a human figure in a crouching posture, surmounted in turn by a bear with a killer whale in his jaws, a fish, and a thunderbird, with outstretched wings, painted overall in red, yellow, black and blue, with typical stylized crest designs; signed on the back "Charl Jamson, Yakuglas" (Charlie James, b. 1870, Port Townsend, WA).
