- wool
of classic form, woven in mountain goat's wool and shredded cedar bark fiber, in typical colors of ivory, black, yellow and turquoise blue, evenly faded on one side, and brighter on the reverse, with a totemic crest pattern, representing a sea bear, with a central rectangular face mask representing the body, stylized eyes, above and below, forming the head and tail, and additional formline details in the open ground, the warp extended to form thick, long fringe below.

For a comparable blanket in the American Museum of Natural History, New York see Samuel, 1982, p. 42: "According to Emmons, the figure in this dancing blanket represents a sea-bear; Boas calls it a standing eagle."
Condition
Even fading to the face of the blanket. There is typical wear for age and use; scattered, loose weft threads. Overall the blanket is in very good condition; the fringe is in particularly good condition.
