each composed of 14kt. (?) gold, the pendant, in the shape of a bear, inset with turquoise, coral and mother-of-pearl against a jet background, with stylized Hopi motifs on the front and back, suspended on a necklace of gold beads, together with a ring, similarly decorated with a landscape; Jesse Monongye, Navajo/Hopi (b. 1952).
Provenance
The pendant-necklace was acquired in 1985 from The Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ; the ring was acquired directly from the artist in 1996.
Condition
Both are in very good condition with typical wear from use.
