Condition
Overall very good original condition. The design of this piece is executed in a way to adjust to varying ceiling heights. There is a brass that affixes to the black portions of the standards which holds the white standard in place. The black standards are independent elements, and therefore can be adjusted separately. The maximum height of the coat rack is approximately 139 inches. Please contact the department for installed photographs to show the work in its entirety.
The white leather portion of the standard with some surface dirt, light rubbing, and areas of abrasions and fraying to the portion to the top and bottom that abuts the brass collar, all of which is consistent with age and use. The black standards each end in a smaller metal component, which looks much like a bolt. There is a gray metal disc for the foot of the piece, in which the lower standard is placed. It appears that the top portion is lacking this foot element. The horizontal poles are solid element rods that pass through the white portion of the standard and can be varied in position. A very dynamic work in person with significant versatility in the design.
