Condition

Overall very good original condition. The leather with a beautiful acquired patina with age. With light surface dirt throughout. The leather with some minor crazing and very light rubbing. The reverse of the chair with eight isolated areas of repair to the leather upholstery. One of which appears to be restoration to a prior tear (approximately 3 ½ inches in length) and seven smaller restorations. All are undertaken sensitively and well executed, yet remain visible. Minor adjacent abrasions and nicks to the reverse. The ottoman is slightly lighter displaying a rich brown tone and may be associated with the chair or received less sun exposure. The ottoman with an impression in the leather extending the entire depth, however does not break the surface of the leather. With minor crazing, light surface rubbing and shallow surface scratches, none of which penetrate the leather. The feet with nicks and scratches concentrated to the lower portion, consistent with age and use. This chair design is rarely seen on the market executed with leather upholstery. A very good example of the form with a beautifully patinated leather surface.
