Condition

Overall very good condition. This is a superb example of the intricacy of Sandoz's decorative work. Executed in lacquer and silver, the outer surfaces of the box remain in excellent condition showing only very minor rubbing. One of the short edges of the box closes properly but fastens with a very minor gap. The interior with evidence of prior cleaning and light tarnish and an isolated area of adhesive residue. A spectacular example among the cigarette boxes made by Gerard Sandoz.
