Condition
Overall in very good condition. A well assembled pair. Both tankards appear to retain their original copper patinas, and the surfaces display exceptional hand hammering. The Bear tankard displays a slightly lighter patina. The copper surfaces with light surface wear, surface soiling, and with some minor surface irregularities and roughness to the exterior rim area on the Bear tankard consistent with age and use. The interior of the Bear tankard with slightly heavier surface soiling and discoloration, and with some light traces of surface oxidation. The silver ornamentation with tarnishing and darkening in the recessed contours and around the contours of the decorative rivets, which effectively emphasizes the figurative details. The horn handles with light surface wear and soiling consistent with age and use. A very handsome pair that present beautifully together.
