Condition
Overall in good condition. This lot has been closely examined by a ceramics expert, and also closely examined under blacklight. The three tiles were acquired over time and were later installed in the present contemporary oak frame. This presentation is quite beautiful and successful. Please note that the tiles have not been inspected out of the frame, but the current installation allows for the back of each tile to be almost entirely visible. On the reverse side of two tiles (the front right facing tile and the middle tile) there are a few small retouched flecks and chips reserved to a few of the corners and perimeter edges. These minor retouches are visible under blacklight. There are no visible areas of restoration to the front tile faces. In the catalogue illustration, there is a small dark spot that appears on the left tile (upper right corner) which is not at all present on the actual work. The colors of the glazes show far greater nuance than seen in the catalogue illustration, which is slightly too yellow. The central tile is also molded in soft relief and is dimensional. The oak frame with some very minor surface scratches and abrasions, and with a few very small white paint spots along the top side edge.
