Condition
Overall in excellent condition. With some very minor losses to the metallic backing to the immediate corners, but it does not impact the overall appearance of the work. With some minor chips to the lower portion of the frame at the corners, possibly from the original removal from the Normandie. The top edge of the frame with an area of abrasions and minor cracks, which appears as an area lighter in color in the catalogue illustration. This appears to the be result of impact and is isolated to this small area. The metal frame is recent, and has been custom fit to panel. With no hanging hardware to the reverse of the frame. It appears that this frame was made to secure the panel, and is not completely fitted for display of the work. Please contact Sotheby's for additional detailed images of the corners of the work and same area of impact adjacent to the top proper left corner.
