Literature

Claude & François-Xavier Lalanne, exh. cat., Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York, 2006, pp. 89 and 93 (for related works)

Condition

Overall very good original condition. The bird element is fixed to the orb, which rests on the base. This allows the position of the ball to be altered and therefore the viewing perspective on the work to change. This makes the work more didactic. A wonderful example of a small playful Lalanne design.
