Description
- Tiffany Studios
- "Clematis" Chandelier
- shade impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK
- leaded glass and patinated bronze
Provenance
Minna Rosenblatt, New York, circa 1990
Condition
Overall very good condition. The shade with approximately 50-55 cracks to the glass dispersed throughout. With replaced hardware (standard, ceiling cap and chains) and with replaced socket cluster. Sockets are not fitted with paddle switches. The shade leading on the interior shows slight oxidation to the lead lines. Ring collar possibly re-soldered in the past (when examined under fluorescent light this does not show any inconsistencies). Shade displays a strong artistic glass selection. One side is articulated with vibrant striated aqua glass simulating the sky, while the opposite side transitions to a more autumn color palette with deep hues of striated magenta and ochre glass. The entire shade is further enhanced with the use of "confetti" (or fractured) glass throughout. A very attractive and artistic example of this rare chandelier model.
