Condition
Original canvas. Apart from a few minor spots of retouching visible under ultraviolet light, notably in the right breast and left arm of the standing slave, a stroke along the dress of a lady to the left of the slave buyer, and in the minaret in the upper right, and some frame rubbing along the extreme edges, this work is in overall good condition, clean and ready to hang. Held in an elaborate silver-painted wood and plaster frame with Islamic script motif.
