Condition
The canvas has been relined. An old retouch of approx. 10 by 10 cm. above the butterfly. Some very minor craquelure in the background. Otherwise in good condition.

Catalogue Note
Marie Beloux-Hodieux was born in Lyon in 1860 and died in Paris in 1897. She was a pupil of André Perrachon (1827-1909) and won a Deuxieme Medaille at an exhibition in Lyon in 1892.
