modelled in two parts with Jupiter his chariot amidst the clouds holding a thunderbolt in his upraised hand and sword in the other, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue twice, impressed No. 29.
Condition
The eagles that draw the chariot are missing and there is some restoration and overspray to the cloud where they once stood. The putto's arms are restored and there are minor restored chips to the front of the chariot. There is restoration to Jupiter's upraised arm, the lightening bolts he holds, the purple and blue drapery and the edge of the mask at the rear of the chariot. The end of one lightening bolt is broken away at the edge of the base and the end of the sword is restored (probably made up).
