Description

  • bronze, wood, tortoiseshell
  • height 47 1/2 in.; width 51 1/4 in.; depth 18 3/4 in.
  • 120.5 cm; 130 cm; 47.5 cm
of breakfront outline, each surmounted by a black marble top, the doors centered by the figures of the goddess Ceres and Bacchus, opening to two ebonized shelves fronted by brass bandings.

Condition

Overall in good condition with the usual minor scratches, dents and nicks to veneers and carcass consistent with age and use. Tarnishing to gilt-bronze in places. Some brass bandings lifting to bottom sides of cabinets. One cabinet with a vertical age cracks to its right end side of approximately 14 1/2 in. long. Each marble tops with the usual minor chips to edges but one with a chip to its breackfront part be of approximately 1 in long. This chip is not visible once the marble is inset to the top of the cabinet. one gilt-bronze mask centering the side, lacking on one cabinet.
