Description

  • the first marked on underside of one foot, the second on the base rim

the first with domed base set with painted enamel roundels of mythological subjects separated by enameled masks, repeated on the feet, the stem formed as a moor in exotic dress, the clock face in champlevé enamel, the back painted with maidens paying tribute to a bound Cupid, cock finial; the barrel with shaped base, supported by two gilt figures of dwarves, Jolly Topper finial, painted with grapevine on pink ground, bacchanalian scenes, a classical banquet and the rape of Ganymede

some restoration to corners of stand on barrel, possibly to faces on base of clock, otherwise good, nice quality painting on barrel
