the specimen marble top centred by a roundel and stylised foliage at the angles including brocatello di Spagna, lapis lazuli, africano, alabastro fiorito, bianco e nero, bianco e nero tigrato, breccia cenerina, verde antico, rosso antico, nero antico amongst others, on a brocatello ground, within a white marble border with geometric motifs, above a pierced frieze carved with scrolls and acanthus, the stem in the form of three addorsed dolphins above a scallopshell, on a shaped burgundy painted base

Condition
Some old very minor marks and chips to marble top with a medium sized chip to side sections of wooden border to the top which are missing and lifting, but this can easily be restored. Some minor losses to decoration, especially to the reverse of the dolphins and losses to painted decoration on the base as visible from photograph. There is also a section missing from the front right edge of the painted base due to insect damage and there is a loss to the scallop on top right side of the shell on the base, but this can easily be restored and is not too noticeable. An unusual piece in overall very good conserved condition.
