Description

- 106cm. high, 176cm. wide, 60cm. deep; 3ft.5¾in., 5ft 9¼in., 1ft. 11½in.
decorated `a merletto', with a shaped drop-in back padded back above a serpentine padded seat and downscrolled padded arms, on eight cabriole legs, the frame decorated with a ribbon motif, trellis lacework and flowers, upholstered in a red 19th century lampas
Condition
Joints sound and sturdy. Old very minor marks and chips to the decoration with some very minor retouching in places. Reblocked. There is a construction crack where the left leg joins the side-rail and another hairline construction crack, where the right leg joins the side-rail, but these are not too noticeable and can easily be left or filled. The sofa is painted yellow on the reverse which is typical of Italian seat furniture of this period. A good size. In overall very good conserved condition.
