Provenance
Vanessa Devereux Gallery, London, where acquired by the present owner in 1989
Condition
Original canvas. There is a small undulation in the upper right corner and a minor protrusion to the right of the large circle in the upper left quadrant. There is some minor paint separation to the left of the large circle in the upper left quadrant and also below the heads first and third from the left in the thicker area of paint. There is a very small spot of paint loss that appears to have been infilled by the artist along the lower edge, below the head second from the left, and another minor spot of paint loss on the lower right the edge of the lower right quadrant. The surface is slightly dirty and there are one or two minor abrasions, particularly along the edges; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with some strong areas of impasto.
Under ultraviolet light there appear to be no signs of retouching.
Unframed.
