Description
- tin, paint
The "Missouri" has been so meticulously restored that it counts as a virtue for this third series battleship. Its sleek design incorporates low slung deck details, including six swiveling gun turrets, each with two fixed guns, and one large and one short funnel. The upper deck superstructure unites observation decks fore and aft, each fitted with searchlights and masts. The faux wood plank deck is slotted to accommodate a full crew. Other details include two hand crank winches, five lifeboats, captain's wheel which adjusts the rudder, and eight lower deck fixed guns. The spare, angular design reflects a more accurate portrait of gunboats of the day as well as the influence of the art deco era. Clockwork mechanism concealed in hull.

Condition
Professionally restored to a high standard, with the exception of the mellowed shellac finish, this toy looks much like it just came from the Märklin factory. Please note that the stand is not for sale and will not accompany the lot.
