Description

Comprising a Märklin U-boat finished in blue, fitted with four fixed blades at hull, a simple Fleischmann submarine finished in grey with white and gold accents and a conn with brass screw cap hatch, a Japanese "W22" submarine patterned after the Fleischmann example in this lot and fitted with an American flag at the stern, a Bing submarine painted in black with a small but interesting conn including stairs, periscope, and observation platform with a mechanism that is wound at the bow, a grey Sutcliffe submarine with blade at the bow and partial original decal finished in grey and maroon, and two Japanese submarines, one finished in blue and white with stairs to crow's nest, the other having a low profile finished in yellow and grey. All fitted with clockwork mechanisms.



 



Lengths range from 8 ½ to 12 inches

Condition

The Marklin has wear and old repair at blade and railing. The Fleischman has a small hole in the rim of deck. The 'W22' is missing the key cap. The Bing is missing the key plug and has wear, flaking and creasing. The Sutcliffe has been repainted. The first Japanese submarine has extensive wear, the second only has some wear.
