Catalogue Note

A fine copy of the special vellum issue of the first edition of Ulysses printed in Britain. The text was based on the Odyssey Press edition, second impression (revised by Stuart Gilbert at the author's request), generally considered the most accurate and authoritative text of Joyce's great novel at the time. However, some new typographical errors crept in during printing, remaining uncorrected in subsequent John Lane editions.
