Catalogue Note
A fine copy. The English edition, which was published in January 1881, was preceded by the American edition by one month. The English edition also included The Pension Beaurepas, not previously published in book form, and A Bundle of Letters, which had previously been published in book form in America. The first printing was of 500 copies, and was followed by a second impression of 250 copies in March 1881.
