Catalogue Note

A fine copy of the last of the Palliser novels, and in Sadleir's view "in some ways this last story... is the best".

This copy is inscribed "Dolly Strickland from H.M.T. 31. Aug. 1886". Apparently this is from the author's son, Henry Merivale Trollope. He married Ada Strickland in 1884.
