Catalogue Note
A complete set of the first editions of Marx's polemical masterpiece of political economy, of which only the first volume was published in his lifetime; the rest were seen through the press by Engels. It was the summation of over twenty years research in the reading rooms of the British Museum, and followed on from his earlier work Zur Kritik der Politisches Oekonomie, printed in 1859.
