Description

  • Gilt-bronze, coral
of rectangular section and shape, with a tall cylindrical neck, each face with a raised gilt-bronze panel finely carved with a sinuous scaly dragon in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', among flames and ruyi-head clouds, bordered between clouds above and below, the flat base set with a gilt-bronze panel incised with an eight-character mark within a rectangular border, Shunzhi si nian Cheng Rongzhang zao ('Made by Cheng Rongzhang in the fourth year of Shunzhi')
