Catalogue Note
Bottles carved as mallow flowers appear most frequently in monochrome glass, and are usually given an Imperial attribution, especially when they are of small size. For an Imperially attributed example in amber glass in the present sale see lot 13. Chalcedony bottles of this subject are extremely rare.
