This painting is well-stretched on its original stretcher. The paint layer is very healthy and in good condition. In the lower center, in the boxer's upper legs, there is an area of minor paint loss which could be retouched. In the remainder of the picture there is no paint loss and there does not appear to be any retouching. Although the painting could easily be hung as is, this small amount of paint loss could also be retouched.
