Condition

The painting seems to be in overall good condition. It has been properly relined. To the naked eyes, there is no visible restoration. Under UV lamp: There is a small repaint (6 cm) on the tree in the upper left corner.

Notre tableau est une réplique d'atelier de l'oeuvre conservée aux Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique.

A la mort du roi d'Espagne Philippe IV, Louis XIV entreprit de récupérer les villes du nord-est. Le siège de Tournai, ouvrit, en Flandres, la guerre de Dévolution (1667-1668). La ville fut encerclée le 21 juin 1667 par la première armée dirigée par Louis XIV, assisté de Turenne. Après quatre jours de siège, la ville capitula et le roi y fit une entrée triomphale le 25 juin de la même année.
