iron and steel, the padlock and key on a metal stand with a perspex mount and the door lock on a metal base; together with a German and a Spanish doorknocker, both 16th century, on perspex bases, and a large key on a metal mount with a perspex base,
Condition
Overall the condition of the door lock is good. There is dirt and some abrasions, nicks and scratches to the surface consistent with age and handling. There is minor oxidization to the surface throughout, with further oxidization in the interior when seen through the keyhole and bolthole. There are two cracks along the right side of the lock. The lock is not operational because the key has been lost. The base is in good condition overall with some wear, in particular to the material lining on the underside which has peeled away substantially.
There is dirt and wear to the surfaces of the padlock and key consistent with age and handling. There is oxidation to the metal throughout, particularly to the back and to the interior when seen when the bolt is open. The padlock is fully operational. The condition of base is good overall with some dirt and wear.
There is oxidization to the surfaces of the doorknocker with caryatid and the doornocker with bird throughout. There is dirt and wear consistent with age. The doornockers are glued to their bases. The condition of the bases is good overall, with some dirt and wear.
Overall the condition of the key is good with dirt and wear consistent with age. There is some oxidization to the metal. The condition of the base is good overall with some dirt and wear.
