Condition

Overall the condition of the relief is good. There is wear and some dirt to the surface conistent with age. The front of the relief has been covered in a later layer of slip while the reverse has a later painted plaster backing so the piece has possibly been broken and restored. There are restorations to the proper left arm and possibly the head of Venus. The toes of Venus' proper right foot have been reattached. A finger is missnig from Cupid's proper left hand. There is wear to the gilding of the frame.
