Condition
Overall the condition of the ciborium is good. There is some minor dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is wear to the gilding throughout. The hinge and top element are slightly loose.

Catalogue Note
This ciborium retains the hemi-spherical inner-compartment which allowed easy removal of the remains of the Host. For related Limoges ciboria dating from the 13th and 14th centuries see Notin and Barrière (op.cit.).
