Condition

Overall the condition of the ivory is good. There is wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age, including some rubbing to the polychromy in the hair. There are stable, naturally occurring, fissures on the surface throughout. Threre is a chip to the reverse of the orb. The arms, orb and base were carved separately and joined with wooden dowels. There is a small hole to the top of the head for an aureole.
