Condition

Relined and surface has been pressed. the dark background areas are thin and there is some abrasion to some of the objects such as the scissors to right of the candle and the covered box at lower center. an old discolored repaint can be seen in background at center right. composition still reads well and presents a decorative image. ultraviolet light reveals some scattered retouches mostly in background areas and in faux wood cabinet; a few can be seen on book bindings, candlestick and barber's tools at lower right. some retouches around edges. In a plain brown wood frame.
