Catalogue image is too dark and colors of actual painting are richer. panel is uncradled, flat and stable. under a slightly yellowed varnish. paint surface is well retained with good preservation of impasto. under UV: there is a thick old varnish which is difficlut to see through; some retouches can be seen on top of the old varnish: on eyes, at bottom right of turban, a few tiny ones on beard, an area in background center right, along bottom and a few on costume lower right. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with small piece missing at lower right corner and other losses to gilding.
