Attributed to Giovanni Stanchi

The canvas has an old relining. The paint surface is secure under a relatively clean varnish. There appears to be an old restored damage in the ledge lower right. The browns of the background and ledge have abraded somewhat and some older and more recent retouchings are visible in the left and right hand margin, the ledge and to the upper right of the flowers. Inspection under UV light also reveals some retouching work to the red flower lower right. The vase and flowers are generally well preserved. Offered in an ornate carved gilt wood frame in good condition.
